What Is a Supra Lockbox?

Secure access for real estate showings

What is a Supra lockbox?

A Supra lockbox is an electronic key container used by real estate professionals. It lets an authorized agent access the property key for an approved showing while creating an electronic record of the opening.

Availability is confirmed from the listing county before checkout.

A better way to manage the property key

Show the home without leaving a loose key or sharing a combination

The lockbox stores a property key in a secured container attached at the listing. A real estate professional with the appropriate Supra eKEY credential uses a phone and Bluetooth connection to request access. The credential is checked by the Supra system, the key container releases for the showing, and the opening becomes part of the activity record.

That does not mean anyone with the app can enter. The user must have valid access, and the showing instructions still control whether an appointment or permission is required. Supra describes its digital credentials as encrypted and designed to provide an audit trail for property access.

Why sellers use one

Convenient access with more accountability

01

Make approved showings easier

An authorized agent can retrieve the key at the property, which can reduce the need for the owner to meet every visitor or coordinate a physical key handoff.

02

Avoid a reusable combination

Access relies on an authorized electronic credential instead of a mechanical code that could be copied, forwarded, or left unchanged.

03

Create an access record

Electronic opening activity helps the listing office understand when the box was accessed and supports follow-up after a showing.

What happens at a showing

Access happens in four clear steps

  1. 1

    The showing is arranged

The agent follows the appointment and access instructions published with the listing. A lockbox does not replace permission to enter.

  2. 2

    The agent opens the box

The authorized user connects through the Supra eKEY system and requests access to the key container.

  3. 3

    The home is shown

The agent uses the property key, follows the listing instructions, and secures the home when the showing ends.

  4. 4

    The key is returned

The key goes back into the container, the box is closed, and the access event remains in the Supra activity history.

Electronic lockbox systems can vary by region and MLS. Simply List offers its Supra lockbox option where the property is in the supported FMLS compulsory area. The native order form checks the county and prevents an unavailable lockbox from being purchased.

Important distinction

Secure access is not automatic access

A Supra lockbox helps control and document access to a key. It does not approve a showing, supervise visitors, monitor activity inside the home, guarantee that a door is locked, or replace property insurance and reasonable seller precautions.

Keep the showing instructions accurate and tell the office promptly when access changes. If the home is occupied, use an appointment process that respects the occupants and the listing agreement.

Common questions

Before you order a Supra lockbox

Is a Supra lockbox the same as a combination lockbox?

No. A Supra lockbox is an electronic key container. Authorized users generally open it with Supra eKEY credentials instead of a combination that can be shared with anyone.

Who can open the lockbox?

Access is intended for authorized real estate professionals and other specifically authorized users with a valid Supra credential. The listing instructions and appointment requirements still apply.

Does the lockbox schedule showings?

No. The lockbox manages access to the key. It does not replace the showing instructions or appointment process. An agent should obtain the required appointment or permission before opening it.

Will I be able to see showing activity?

Supra records access events that can support a showing activity trail. The detail available to a seller depends on the listing setup, MLS tools, and information received by the listing office.

Can I order a Simply List Supra lockbox anywhere in Georgia?

Not always. Simply List offers Supra lockboxes for properties in the supported FMLS compulsory counties. In other areas, local real estate professionals may use a different regional lockbox system. The order form checks the property county before checkout.

Is the deposit refundable?

The lockbox deposit is recorded separately from the lease and shipping charges. It is refundable when the box is returned in accordance with the order terms. The customer dashboard and receipt history show an approved refund separately from the original payment.

How do I order one for an existing listing?

Open the property in My Listings, choose Add or Cancel Services, and select the available Supra lockbox option. You can choose office pickup or shipping when those options are available for the property.
